The Centre for Justice and Reconciliation states, Beneath the greater umbrella of Transformative Justice, there exists Restorative Justice Practices. Restorative Justice is a spectrum of formal and informal practices that exist simply to bring communities together in an orderly fashion. In addition to celebrations, healing, mourning, and other types, Circle Processes are noted both throughout the world and here in the U.S. for addressing conflict by seeking to repair and prevent harm. While existing forms of punitive justice tend to focus on who is at fault and imposing consequences or punishment, Restorative Justice addresses the impact of harm by giving voice to those affected, including victims and other community members.
